We are not celebrating the 100th day for several weeks but I wanted to put some pics up from last year. This is a sign I made that was hanging in our doorway.
I have always done the 100th day snack. Each child is assigned what to bring so we don't wind up with 10 bags of pretzels. This way there is a variety that they can choose from. Then we do all kinds of math activities after we sort our snacks.
My ultimate favorite creation! Since I taught kindergarten I have had the students come to school wearing something with 100 on it. I've had sooooooo many really creative ideas & I will have to see if I have pics of all of them. The one above & below are all from last year.
Aren't those fun??? I can't wait to see what this class comes up with! I always tell them "DON'T TELL ME! I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!" I really do..in fact I am having our 100th day celebration on the 101st day since I will be at a textbook adoption caravan. I bought an updated 100th day shirt from TEACHINGBLOGADDICT & I just HAVE to wear it!
I am planning on wearing one of my many Sheldon striped shirts underneath since it's F.R.E.E.Z.I.N.G here in Chicago!
We did a ton of fun activities & there is a TON of ideas on all the teacher blogs & especially on TPT. I do highly recommend the following products that I personally will be using this year.
The first unit is from Jeannie from Kindergarten Lifestyle! Love her! She is an author for FREEBIE-LICIOUS with me!
This unit is from 1st Grade Hip Hip Hooray! IT.IS.WONDERFUL!
Now for a fun little 100th day freebie!
I will be displaying the sign above on my smartboard when they arrive at school! This is the certificate they will each get. I think I might run it on white & let them color it. I did not make one in color........raise your hand if you have colored ink??? Yeah, I thought so. Do the ink police work in your office too???
Once upon a time I used to have them do a big project BUT we all know the CCSS police might stop by our hallway. This will be going into their memory/writing binders. I might whip up a sheet to put an actual photo on....a class photo.
And this will be displayed in our classroom so I make sure and hit that erhwoeirfjewofhal indicator.
These are the cutie patootie Rockhopper headbands we made last year. I used the last of the yellow feathers I had. I used to pull apart yellow boas or yellow feather dusters. My co-workers used yellow crepe paper (streamers) or yellow construction papers & it actually turned out super cute! Do you think I have enough penguin stuffed animals?
Because I know will get questions here are the steps....EASY PEASY!
When we make these this year it will be on penguin day. They will hop to special, waddle to lunch, & all be dressed in black & white. Stay tuned..............

such a cute sign for them to walk in on the 100th day :0) Love these ideas!

Thank you for the freebie! I LOVE the idea of putting 100 somethings on their clothes. Totally doing that this year instead of the tired old 100 collection.

Mel, this is a great post, filled with inspiring 100 day ideas!
ReplyDeleteI also do the "wear 100 of something" and last year a student came in with 100 rocks and pebbles glued to a vest....by mid-morning he was begging to take it off because it was too heavy!
I am using your template for the award when we celebrate our special day next Wed.
Thank you for sharing!
