More games, freebies, and Cyber Monday deals

This is my 1ST SALE EVER & I'm so excited....for YOU! I have worked my rear off this weekend to load up my TPT store for the sale. I was up till 5 am people.....you're welcome :oP 

I dragged my hubby to Joann Fabrics, he stayed in the car of course, to stock up on laminating sheets to go to town tomorrow on all my new games. Once again, they had 2-20 packs of laminating sheets! Seriously, they are KILLING ME! I talked to the cashier, again, about our situation...meaning me & Joann Fabrics. I did find out that you can go to customer service & order as many as you can pay for & even use coupons! Merry Christmas to me! I wanted to leap over that counter & hug her. I.love.her! She used to get irritated with me because...picture this.....I would walk up with about 50 coupons in my hand & 50 items in my cart. I will use a 50% off coupon on a candy bar just because I can. Plus I will hand them my teacher discount card for an additional 15% off. They are probably reviewing this coupon policy just because of me. Did you know that you can get up to 4 flyers per household??? I get four. One that comes for my husband, one for me, one for Bentley (dog), & one for Java (dog). Yes, I get coupons delivered under my dog's name, I am pathetic resourceful. I get them at school too (2). One in my maiden name & one with my married name...whoopsie. I also pull coupons from my phone. Joann & Michael's have apps. Michael's is not my friend, I fight with the cashiers over there ALL.THE.TIME. They only let you use one coupon per transaction. So I make them do 10 transactions so I can get all my discounts...DUH! They need to rethink this policy just because of me...ha! 

Wowee, I totally went off topic. Get me talking about sales & I can blog for hours! Speaking of sales, this is what you can get from my TPT STORE! Fry's phrases contain the 300 most commonly used words in elementary reading and writing. Do you think your students need practice with this? Um, yes they do. 

I don't know about you, but my kiddos sure struggle with Grammar. I have showed PP presentations, we have played interactive Smartboard games, centers, file folder games & they still struggle. I made these games to help them out. In order to move to the designated spot on the Candy Land board they have to read the word. Repetition seems to always work with them. Developmentally I think they are too young to understand these difficult concepts but with the new Core curriculum & even the old state standards, we are required to teach it & they are required to master the skills.

ALL 30 of my Candy Land games go along with the K, 1st , 2nd grade & even a few in 3rd grade Core curriculum. These games are played weekly in Word Work during Daily 5. My kiddos absolutely LOVE these games & play a different skill weekly. This is by far their favorite word work activity that I have EVER put in this station! 

 

The next series of games will go along with the Scott Foresman Reading Street 1st grade series. I will include the spelling & HFW's in each game. There are approximately 80 words in each unit. If you use a different series like Houghton & are interested please shoot me an email with the word lists. If I know there is interest I will take the time to make them for you. 1.  What are you thankful for in your classroom?

 I figured I would kill two birds with one stone with this one. I am ever so thankful for my Smartboard be jealous & my students most of all. What are they doing, you ask?? Have you ever heard of Adventure to Fitness TV? They are pretending to be turkeys right now. It is the COOLEST thing! It's a great way for them to burn off energy on a Friday & follow directions at the same time! The kids were S.T.A.O (sweating their asses off). 

Students: "Mrs. Dillard...Mrs. Dillard...Mrs. Dillard x 3,251 Do this with us!!!!!!"

Me: "I'll have to take a pass, I'm perspiring JUST watching you! "

I received my Smartboard around this time last year & I have no idea how I taught without it. I guess the kids actually had to listen!?! I get the chills thinking about the blank blue screen. I want to call down to the office because my stomach is queasy & I must go home. Then I check my ELMO....ahh....back to business ;o) 

2. What person people are you most thankful for?

 This is lovie my husband, my love, my soul mate, my BFF, my skateboarding/moutain biking rockstar! 

 This is my mom, yes it's my mom........ NOT my sister. I can't even describe how much she means to me. I can't go a day or even an hour without thinking about her. She is & always will be my best friend. She is the kindest most generous person I know & I want to be a mom JUST like her one day! I love you MOM! 

I am thankful for my dad. I hardly ever saw my dad growing up because he was such a hard worker.....worked all day & side jobs at night. He had 3 little ones to raise & worked very hard to do so on his own with my mom caring for us at home..of course. He instilled my work ethic & drive to want more in life & I am grateful for that. His motto is "life is good" & when I'm down I always try to remember that.

I am thankful for my nephew Jordan, our gift from God. His father, my brother, passed away right after Jordan was conceived. He looks EXACTLY like him & even has his same mannerisms. He is the most kind-hearted, loving, male I have ever met. I like to think we had something to do with that :o) 

 I am thankful for my brother Eric & my niece Skye India. He is a wonderful & patient father.

I am thankful for our princess Java. She is moody & getting up there in age but is always by mama's side.

I am thankful for our 4 year old baby boy, Bentley the beast. I like to call him "pooper" because he poos ALL.THE.TIME! LIKE.A.HORSE! I have a journal on this boy. I have a list of 100 things Bentley has eaten. I will fill you in on one. He ate a whole tube of wet wipes like a spaghetti noodle. How do I know this tidbit of info? He threw it up on my head! Well, half on my head & half on my pillow when he was 1. He's eaten batteries, remote controls, 1 UGG boot, cell phones, towels, clothing, underwear, dry wall...you get my point. He was a bad, bad, B.A.D boy but we love him to death! He is the biggest 135+lb baby who loves to snuggle. I trip over my students all day & then come home to him up my ass! I wish I had this blog when he was a pup. I will dig up some juicy journals & FB posts about him. Do you know when I put stuff about B that is when I would get comments?!?

This is Bentley in a time out AFTER he ate mommy's UGG boot. He ate one, not two. I got to wear them once! If you'd like to hear more about Bentley, I got tons. Make a comment & I will make sure & blog about Bentley our Beast. 

Finally, I am thankful for laughter. If I didn't laugh through all the trials & tribulations we have gone through trying to have a baby, I wouldn't be sane. I am thankful for all the laughter & happiness I do have & am grateful for all that I have & all that I have accomplished.

3. What 3 blogs are you most thankful for?

It's so very hard to choose 3...seriously I love all the blogs I stalk...daily.







I am thankful for TBA! I am thankful for them giving me the opportunity to be an author & for inspiring me daily. They are the reason I decided to start my own blog.





I am ever so thankful for Rachel & Natalie for their daily inspirations. I look up to them & only hope to be as successful as they are. Truly two talented teachers!




Finally, I am forever thankful to Charity Preston & her wealth of knowledge! She has been amazing & E.X.T.R.E.M.E.L.Y informative! 4. What guilty pleasure are you most thankful for? The "Ch" sound. Mainly, Chelsea, Chuy, & Chunk.

Chuy reminds me of a mini fat version of my dad. I don't know why but I.love. him! I love anything little including him. I love Chelsea for giving me the word "nugget", I'm obsessed with the word N.U.G.G.E.T.

Yes, this is "THE CHUNK" BE JEALOUS! He does not like photos or the paparazzi & that is why he is not looking. 

5. What are you most thankful for?

 I am MOST thankful for my hubby! This is him when I used to watch him skateboard when we were kids.

I used to just sit there & drool over all his moves....hee..hee.

This is his dangerous hobby now. He makes my heart go pitter-patter every time I see him & I am so thankful for him. He makes my life whole, he completes me.

Speaking of my lovie, he is sulking....I'm out.
